01

Orrin's Introduction

Orrin Vey welcomed travelers to The Great Hall while the Regulars gathered behind him. The speech was acceptable. Nothing caught fire.

No charge.
02

Garrick's Tab

Garrick Vale remains a fighter, a problem-solver and an ongoing financial concern. He has not solved the tab. Future treasure is not currency.

Outstanding.
03

The Silent Passage

Garrick, Liora and Orrin crossed the Hall quietly. Torv took one step. The rafters shook, the tables jumped and three patrons reconsidered the structural integrity of the building.

Structural inspection pending.
04

The Question of the Femur

A skeleton asked whether the bone in question was his femur. No one produced a receipt, a witness or a satisfactory explanation.

Disputed property.
05

Biscuit's Approval

Biscuit addressed the Hall in a deep and distinguished English voice entirely unsuited to his appearance. He approved the message.

Approved.
06

The Color-Changing Mug

Garrick presented Biscuit's color-changing mug. When warmed, it revealed the Hound of the Seventh Veil and his official verdict: “I approve this message.” The cost was added to Garrick's tab.

Merchandise accounted for. Garrick has not.
07

Biscuit's Welcome

From his customary place on the tavern floor, Biscuit welcomed travelers to The Great Hall and explained that there is always a chair, a story and something strange waiting inside.

Settled for one biscuit.
08

Buddy's Discovery

Buddy found Garrick's coin purse behind the tavern. Bram applied the contents to the outstanding balance. Garrick may call this theft. The Ledger calls it payment.

Partially settled.
09

Current Balance

Garrick owes. Torv owes damages. Ownership of the femur remains uncertain. Biscuit approves. Buddy watches. The Ledger remains open.

Carried forward.
10

The Good Chair

Torv moved the good chair to clear the aisle. Malkin returned to it before the work was finished. No damage was reported. Tamsin added a rule. Torv apologized. Malkin remained seated.

Carried forward
11

The Unbroken Lock

Sable tested the upstairs window lock. It held. Bram charged her for the inspection. She said she had touched nothing while holding the latch.
